School Meals Page

We are pleased to be able to offer a full ‘onsite’ meal provision here at Runwell, with all our school meals being freshly prepared in our purpose-built kitchen each day.  Our catering manager Mrs Frost ensures that a range of tastes are catered for and that all meals meet the Essex agreed standards.  She is also more than happy to work with families to cater for children with allergies or other requirements.

We offer three choices daily that are ordered in the morning and strongly encourage parents in Year R, 1 and 2 to take up universal free school meals whilst they are still on offer.  Once your child is in KS2, you can still order your child’s meal daily for a cost of £2.35 per day which can be paid via our online payment service.

If you are in receipt of specific benefits, your child may be entitled to Free School Meals and we do encourage you to check to see if you are eligible.  Even if you do not wish for your child to access a hot meal every day, the school receives additional funding which is used to benefit your child’s educational outcomes.

We offer 4 meal options per day which consists of either a hot meal, vegetarian meal, jacket potato or cold wrap, together with a choice of dessert, yoghurt or fresh fruit.  Bread, a salad bar and drinking water are freely available every day.
