Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

This term we were inspired by the Royal Opera House Ballet of Alice in Wonderland.  All of our learning stemmed from this.  We have written exciting character descriptions about characters belonging in Wonderland and speeches to be performed before dinner.

After completing Alice in Numberland, we received a letter from the Mad Hatter explaining that we had to have a headdress to attend the tea party so we designed and created them!  We also created music using repeated rhythms using character names and dances to represent the vast differences in characters from the story.

For the tea party, we designed, created and ate our own sandwiches using an alternative to white bread.  The children were challenged to include a variety of food groups.

What a fun-filled term to look back on in years to come!!
